About Us
Founded in 1919, Zonta International is a global organization of executives and professionals working together to advance the status of women worldwide through service and advocacy. With more than 30,000 members belonging to more than 1,200 Zonta Clubs in 67 countries and geographic areas, Zontians all over the world volunteer their time, talents and resources to local and international service projects, as well as scholarship programs aimed at fulfilling Zonta’s mission and objectives.
Zonta is non-partisan and non-sectarian. We conduct business in an honest and trustworthy way to fulfill Zonta’s mission and reach Zonta’s vision with respect and acknowledgment of members’ diversity.
The Zonta Club of Greater Deerfield Beach was officially chartered on July 23, 2012, by Zonta International, and it falls within Area 3 of District 11, encompassing the Southeastern United States (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee), the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, and the British Virgin Islands (Tortola). Area 3 comprises a total of seven clubs in Southeast Florida and two in the Bahamas.
We hold the status of a registered 501c3 charitable organization, operating in compliance with IRS guidelines (EIN #45-2153924), and we are also registered with the Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Affairs under the Solicitation of Contributions Act (Registration # CH49919).
Our core mission is dedicated to advancing the status of women worldwide. To accomplish this mission, we remain steadfast in providing meaningful service and advocacy to our local community through various projects, supporting Zonta International service projects on a global scale, combating violence against women, empowering women to achieve educational excellence, promoting gender equality in education, advocating for women’s equality, and fostering a sense of fellowship and friendship within our community.

- To improve the legal, political, economic, educational, health and professional status of women through service and advocacy.
- To work for the advancement of understanding, goodwill and peace through a world fellowship of executives in business and the professions
- To promote justice and universal respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms
- To be united internationally to foster high ethical standards, to implement service programs, and to provide mutual support and fellowship for members who serve their communities, their nations, and the world
- Zonta International, its districts and its clubs are nonsectarian and nonpartisan
